Worship is not,
- Singing or listening to gospel music
- Crying (although it reveals your emotions)
- Kneeling (although it shows your honour)
- Closing your eyes (although it helps to avoid distraction)
- Offering sacrifice(s) i.e. giving offerings or tithes (although it is required)
- Lifting up your hands (although it expresses your submission)
- Bowing or prostrating (although it speaks of your lowliness)
BONUS: Worship is a matter of the heart; allowing the depths of your heart to fellowship with God. By this you will do these unknowably.Click here to read article, Man - Made to Worship. For image source go here
Wow...I have never been shown these truths. Every preacher says we should worship but they don't say how.
ReplyDeleteThe matter of the heart will display these outward things, mentioned in 1-7. But the true worship is from within. I might add also, that it is a Lifestyle to Worship God and not just a simple act or form that we involve our selves in when we are in a "worship or church service".
ReplyDeleteIt takes a true worshiper one whom has been transformed to understand the true essence of worship, what it is and what it is not.
Apostle L. Shaw Turner
Thanks, Apostle Turner for the addition. The subject of worship has been greatly divorced from the original intent of God, but we trust the Holy Ghost to lead us into a life style of worship. Blessing
