As
much Sunday school helped us in our childhood days, it has as well made us
believe in misconceptions. Some of these childhood misconceptions are being
preached on our pulpits daily. I want to use this opportunity to help bring the
truth to light.

THE MIRROR OF LIFE
A mirror is a shiny metal or glass that reflects an image when light is directed onto it without diffusing it. Hence the mirror presents a carbon copy of the object placed before it. There is a mirror of life that reveals who we are and betrays us when we portray ourselves differently. This mirror of life is the heart of man.

THE MENACE OF RELIGIOUS INSANITY
Christianity has encountered so much oppression right from the Jesus’ baptism to His ascension and will continue to agonize much more until His second coming. In the past centuries, even in the recent past decades, the persecution has always come from those outside the courts of the All Mighty but it’s becoming obvious that much of the oppression is coming from within.

8 REASONS WHY WE SHOULD COMMIT TO THE WORD
People
easily commit to relationships than to God, largely because God cannot be seen
and people can be seen and touched. One of the surest ways to commit ourselves in
our relationship with God is to commit to the Word (precisely all that has been
written in the Bible). Here are some reasons why we should easily commit
ourselves to the Word in other to establish a strong relationship with God. We should
commit to the Word because,
8 REASONS WHY WE MUST TRUST IN THE WORD
Most often
than not we are tempted to think that the Word of God (the Bible) is just a
historical manuscript which is has no direct impact upon our lives in this
present age. The truth we must all embrace is this: “For the word of God is
living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the
division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of
the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12)

THE BIBLE IN A LOAF OF BREAD
John Huss can be called the prophet and reformer, but also the martyr of Bohemia. By his clear testimony, the eyes of thousands were opened as regards false teachings and also as to the finished work of Christ. But this public proclamation of the Gospel did not last long in this country. John Huss was burned at the stake and many Christians were killed. Everywhere there was a search for Bibles in order to have them destroyed.
A woman who loved the Word of God stood in front of her oven and was just about to bake bread when she heard that men of the Inquisition had entered the village to imprison everyone who was found to possess a Bible.
She quickly took her Bible, wrapped it in a lump of dough and put it into the oven. Then she also placed the other loaves inside.
Not long after, her house was searched, too, from the basement to the attic, but nothing could be found.

When the persecutors left the house, the loaves were baked and also the Bible emerged from the hot oven.
What a surprise! The Bible was unharmed as Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego who were cast into the fiery furnace by Nebuchadnezzar from which they came out unsinged. The descendants of this fearless woman have kept this Bible as a precious heirloom. The last heir, a farmer by name of Schebold, also a Bohemian by birth, who lived in Ohio, treasured this Bible very much.

THE SMALLEST BIBLE
The smallest printed Bible known is as long as a match, namely 1.75 inch long, 1.25 inch wide, and 0.8125 inch thick. This tiny book was printed in England and has 878 pages. It also contains many pictures.
With a magnifying glass its letters can easily be read. The Bible weighs about 20 grams.

4 Great Lessons:
There are now many sizes and translations of the Holy Bible.
Do you own a Bible?
If you do, do you study it?
If you study, do you meditate on it?
If you meditate, are you a doer of what it tells you?

If you meditate, are you a doer of what it tells you?
1. Own a Bible means you are determined to have fellowship with Word of God - The Word that was with God from the very beginning.
2. Study means you have resolved to submit to the authority of the Word of Life - The Word to whom, by whom and for whom all that has been made has been made.
3. Meditation means you are fully convicted beyond every reasonable doubt to obey the unadulterated Word - The Word which is the life-giving Spirit.
4. A Doer means you are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. Thus you are bold to walk in its precepts and statutes, and do whatever it says wholeheartedly. And most importantly to preach and teach it.
