All
Christians are supposed to be righteous, which is however a known truth in the
Kingdom of God. But mostly the question has been: how do I become righteous? or
how can I live righteously? or the ultimate question; how do you know a
righteous person? I am not going to give you steps of becoming righteous lest
you say I have given you a law. In this write-up I am going list thirteen (13)
characteristics of a righteous person which David mentioned in Psalm 15.

FLOURISHING LIKE A PALM TREE (Psalm 92:12)
The first
day I came across this particular scripture “The righteous shall flourish
like the palm tree...” my desire to become righteous increased. That
was many years ago but still every time I read it I desire more righteousness.
It is a great thing to be righteous. The Holy Word of God says that the
righteous shall flourish like a palm
tree not an orange tree or an apple. I am so excited about palm (tree)
because of its uniqueness and much blessedness. I am going to share with you
certain things about the palm which makes the flourishing of the righteous so
exceptional.

HOW TO ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD
The gospel
according to John has the central theme of bringing believers into a fuller
understanding of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, wherefore it places
emphasis on the subject of having a new life as a prerequisite for entering
into the kingdom of God in chapter three. This life as presented in this
chapter is introduced with Nicodemus, a Jewish teacher of the Law who sought
entry into the kingdom of God but contrary to his expectation was the revelation
of becoming born-again. Jesus’ answer of becoming born-again was a revelation
i.e. a secret knowledge or a mystery, basically a divine truth. It was a
knowledge which was hidden from Judaism and still is because they do not
believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Messiah.
