GIVING

“Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum. And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die. And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

30 JOSH MCDOWELL QUOTES

I developed an interest in apologetics after my readings of Josh McDowell’s materials. Actually, my favourite of all his writings is “More Than A Carpenter”. His teachings are down to earth and very sound. I always get challenged after reading his materials to seek to know the truth the way he knows and teaches it. I will encourage you to read these few with an open heart.

BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE

“I will not take this any longer. I can’t bear with all this again and again. I do a lot of good to people even if it will cost but no one seems to care about me. All my good just goes down the drain. I have resolved not to do any good deed again. Enough is enough!” she said with tears running down her chin.

THIS DWELLING PLACE OF GOD

As a Christian I always apply my heart to search for more powerful ways of fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. This leads me to pray lengthy and regularly on daily basis. I spend lot of time studying and meditating on the Word of God as any Christian should. I will share with you this interesting knowledge to help you mature in your fellowship as a believer in Christ. Let us begin by looking at the scripture below;

FIRST THINGS FIRST

In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus Christ teaches the people about priorities. He makes them know that the most important thing in life is to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. A priority refers to a principal thing – the most important thing. Seeking God should be number one on our To-do list always, because it opens the way for us to receive all things we desire in our lives.

BEARING FRUIT

The growth of a Christian has been compared to that of a tree in several places in the Bible. In Psalms 1:1-3, David says, “…He shall be LIKE A TREE planted by rivers of water that bring forth its fruit in its season….” David compared a man who delighted in God to a tree whose end is to bear fruit and prosper in all his ways. This reveals if the tree does not bear fruit it shall not prosper. Likewise, if a Christian does not bear fruit, he shall not prosper in his endeavors and may even earn condemnation. Let’s take a look at Matthew 21:18-19.

ROADBLOCK TO PERFECTION

As Christians, our ultimate goal is to reach a state of perfection before God. Jesus said in Matthew 5:48 that we should be perfect as our heavenly Father, who is in Heaven is perfect. The Christian life is not just about reading the Bible, praying, fasting, evangelizing and church growth. It also involves moral values, attitudes and other ethics all pushing us towards the ultimate goal, PERFECTION.

BEASTLY MEN

“…They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak against dignitaries, whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord. But these, like NATURAL BRUTE BEASTS made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption.”
(2 Peter 2:10-12)

TRIUMPH AFTER ENDURANCE

In the 1900’s the British queen Victoria resided in Ghana. She conducted the slave trade and ruled in the name of the United Kingdom. One day she ordered the capture of King Prempeh who was the last of the Ashanti Kings and this stirred up Queen mother Yaa Asantewaa to mobilize her people to go and fight the British soldiers. Yaa Asantewaa and her people knew that the soldiers had guns and explosives but in the face of all that THEY STOOD FIRM AND FOUGHT because they knew that they were entitled to their freedom.

SURRENDER DAILY

We do not incline our ears to His Word because we know Him.
We do not accept the truth because we can hear Him too.
We see visions and dream dreams so we are closer to Him.
We have stayed in His house for some years so He is our friend.

13 CHARACTERISTICS OF A RIGHTEOUS PERSON (Psalm 15)

All Christians are supposed to be righteous, which is however a known truth in the Kingdom of God. But mostly the question has been: how do I become righteous? or how can I live righteously? or the ultimate question; how do you know a righteous person? I am not going to give you steps of becoming righteous lest you say I have given you a law. In this write-up I am going list thirteen (13) characteristics of a righteous person which David mentioned in Psalm 15.

THE FINAL MANTLE

Sometimes I wonder if the possibility of evil will be not probable at all. But it appears that there is an established fact that this very age would not cease to witness the possibility of the occurrence of any form of evil probable. There is a probability of evil happening but is there a way where the possibility of this probability would be zero? Certainly, as far as this present age is concerned all probable evils are palpable.

LIVING AS GOD PLANNED - LOVE (Part 1)

Love is one asset that cannot be underestimated. Love, as defined by me, is that driving force that binds a group of people together and shows that they are of a common opinion. How? I will show you from the Word of God.

Now there are some characteristics and features of love we must consider. For this reason we would have to critically take a look at 1 Corinthians 13. This is the passage from which we find love as being patient, kind, not jealous and etc. But what we fail to look at are the conditions for which love holds.

THE MENACE OF RELIGIOUS INSANITY

Christianity has encountered so much oppression right from the Jesus’ baptism to His ascension and will continue to agonize much more until His second coming. In the past centuries, even in the recent past decades, the persecution has always come from those outside the courts of the All Mighty but it’s becoming obvious that much of the oppression is coming from within.

8 REASONS WHY SOME PEOPLE CAN LEAVE THE CHURCH

The Church is the household of faith for which all who believe in God through Jesus Christ belong. But God has appointed men to be stewards which has caused many people to think that the church is for a General Overseer or Founder. I am going to share with you some major reasons why some people can leave a church to another or to become unchurched or to another religion.

6 QUALITIES OF A GOOD FRIEND

The dictionary defines a friend as a person other than a family member, spouse or lover whose company one enjoys and towards whom one feels affection. Everyone has friend and everyone most probably needs a friend. A friend is a priceless but very influential gift. A good friend is apparently a good influence whereas a bad friend is the contrary. I personally believe, and I know you believe same too, that everybody wants something or someone good. We all want good things in our lives including friends.
