On
one faithful day she decided to act by faith For she said, “If only I may TOUCH His clothes, I shall be made well.” She
did not decide to go for laying on of hands but rather to touch the border of
Jesus’ garment. Humanly
speaking her decision was not a sensible one. In her affliction she joined
herself to the crowds so that she could touch Jesus’ clothes.
Miracles
are transforming. Our walk with Jesus begins with the miracle of salvation and
ends with resurrection. Within this interval of salvation and resurrection are
much more miracles which the believer is entitled to. Our walk with Jesus is
characterized by various miracles, both big and small altogether.
It
is sad to say that many people are following Jesus but do not receive any
miracle from Him. Some people are expects in involving themselves in every
Christian activity yet without any testimony. The reason why some people walk
beside the Lord and receive no miracle is because the multitude of believers
are thronging You (Jesus Christ).
Luke 8:45 says the multitudes throng and
press You.
Instead
of touching Jesus many people are rather thronging and pressing on Him. Those
who thronged on Jesus did not receive any miracle save the woman who touched by
faith. After touching the garments, Jesus
said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from me.” (Lk. 8:46
also Mk. 5:30) When the power moved from Jesus in response to the woman’s
faith Immediately the fountain of her
blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the
affliction.
It’s
thronging and pressing to think that
Jesus is sitting in heaven waiting until judgment day or that God is some kind
of old man watching us from above. Because of our perception of God that He’s
far up in the sky, we don’t receive miracles from Him. But if our mentality
will change then we can expect our lives to change also. As believers we ought
to live, move and have our being in faith, always determining to touch not to
throng on Jesus.
Mark 5:24-34
So
Jesus went with him (Jairus), and a great multitude followed Him and thronged
Him. Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered
many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no
better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him
in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His
clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried
up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus,
immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in
the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”
But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and
You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” And He looked around to see her who had done this
thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her,
came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her,
“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your
affliction.”
