Any application of our faith as Christians encounters head-on collision from much opposition. There are many hindrances to our growth in faith. Some of which are:

1.     Present circumstances.

“And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks:

REST - Part 1



“Gad, a troop shall tramp upon him, but he shall triumph at last.” (Genesis 49:19)

When the first man (Adam) disobeyed God, humanity became slaves to sin (the works of the devil). Sin became a troop which overcame man. Sin has bound us through the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life but thank God for sending His Son to come and die to release us from the bondage of sin.

7 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE ZAREPHATH WIDOW





“Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years!” (James 5:17) During this period of three and half years of drought God spoke to Elijah saying, “Go and live in the village of Zarephath, near the city of Sidon. I have instructed a widow there to feed you” (1 Kings 17:9) In the midst of difficulty God commanded His prophet to go into the dwelling of a widow, so that she could feed him. The widow represents believers of our day. God is dealing with us as He dealt with the Zarephath widow.
