14 INCREDIBLE QUOTES ON SOUL WINNING

    To bring the Holy Word of God to humanity, God move holy men by His Holy Spirit to write His oracles, which we call the Bible. God authored the Bible by inspiring men to write. The same way God has chosen men and women to do His work, and has filled them with His wisdom. These men and women of God however had the same commission, to win souls. “Let’s plunder hell and populate heaven” says Rodney Howard-Brown. Here are fourteen incredible quotes on soul winning;
  1. God forms man, sin deforms him, the school informs him but only Christ transforms him, therefore preach Christ to ALL Men – C. H. Spurgeon

10 REASONS WHY WE MUST BE HOLY

 Holiness is the act of living a blameless and upright life, obeying God’s commands, shunning evil and reverently fearing God. By this quality one becomes morally perfect, with a clear conscience before God and man. Here are ten reasons why you must be holy;
  1. God is holy and as His children, we should be holy (1 Pet. 1:15-16)
  2. Because we are members of a holy nation (1 Pet. 2:9)
  3. God chose us form the beginning to be holy and blameless in Him (Eph. 1:4)

NAMES OF THE ENEMY (LUCIFER)

     Christianity is a victorious life because every step is demarcated for war, war which we have been given the power to win. The victory of Christianity is not a one day affair but a continual mission of fighting and overcoming the day-to-day war. Here is what the Bible says “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh” (2 Cor. 10:3). So as we live in the flesh as humans we do not war as humans do. The war we are fighting is not one which will require AK47 or a machete because it is not a physical battle (or a war of flesh). It is a spiritual war. All the enemies we are fighting against are in the spiritual (unseen wicked entities).

8 FACTS ABOUT JUDAS ISCARIOT

     Judas Iscariot has gained a lot of popularity in the world because of his treachery and ignominious death. Yes, he was a follower of Jesus, who betrayed his Master and later committed suicide, but is that all? Here are some facts about this fellow you should know;

  1. He was an apostle (Mk. 3:13-19) and part of the apostolic ministry (Acts 1:16-17, 25)
  2. He was trusted by Jesus (Psa. 41:9)
  3. He was the first treasurer of the Church (Jn. 13:29)
  4. He was a baptizer in water (Jn. 4:1, 2)

IN THE POTTER’S HANDS

One profession which has so much fascinated me is pottery making. Pottery making is a profession and at the same time a hobby. Africa is noted for pottery making because about 90% of all children on the continent grow playing in and with clay. It was not until recently that modernization has taken most African children from clay. I quite remember some very good times I had in and with clay – making cars, superheroes, houses, etc.

12 THINGS I WILL NOT DO IF I WERE YOU

I do not wish to set any parameters for anyone for I am equally not perfect but only desire to help you draw nearer and nearer to our Blessed Christ. What I am about to share with you are things which are in conformity to the Word of God and very expedient for quality Christian living. These are nevertheless things I have learned by experience as a Christian, a pastor and a counselor. I trust God that these lessons would transform your life.

      If I were you,

6 CHARACTERISTICS OF PERSISTENT PEOPLE

Scripture Reading: Luke 11:5-8

And He said to them, “Suppose one of you shall have a friend, and shall go to him at midnight, and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and from inside he shall answer and say,’ Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.’ “I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.”
I  have so much been blessed by this very scripture. It teaches about persistence. How to persist till all resistances are broken is the message here. Life has innumerable stumbling blocks, blurry answers, inaccessible possibilities, hard-to-solve puzzles, problematic choices and unforeseen circumstances. And thus reflects the old adage “Survival of the fittest”. Everything is such that you ought to be fit in other to survive. “Fitness”, I would say is not a six-pack, but a characteristic of “persistence”.

HOW TO ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD

The gospel according to John has the central theme of bringing believers into a fuller understanding of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, wherefore it places emphasis on the subject of having a new life as a prerequisite for entering into the kingdom of God in chapter three. This life as presented in this chapter is introduced with Nicodemus, a Jewish teacher of the Law who sought entry into the kingdom of God but contrary to his expectation was the revelation of becoming born-again. Jesus’ answer of becoming born-again was a revelation i.e. a secret knowledge or a mystery, basically a divine truth. It was a knowledge which was hidden from Judaism and still is because they do not believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Messiah.

3 CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO OPPOSE THE GOSPEL

After some years of preaching and teaching the Gospel of Christ, I have learned that there are more who oppose the gospel than those who advocate it. Very sadly most of these opposers are Christians. Such people (i.e. opposers) I call the generation of Jannes-and-Jambres.
Apostle Paul mentions in his second letter to Timothy that, “And just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected as regards the faith.” (3:8) These two names (i.e. Jannes and Jambres) does not appear in the Old Testament but their rebellion is well recorded as they opposed Moses by replicating some of his miracles (Exod. 7:11) “Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers, and they also, the magicians of Egypt, did the same with their secret arts.” There are more of such people in our days, pretentious people, hiding in our churches, seminaries, schools, homes, work places and parliaments. Our generation has seen many unbelievers, Atheists, Muhammadans and etc. oppose the faith publicly than any generation, but likely unaware of Jannes-and-Jambres Christians.

THE 95 THESIS OF MARTIN LUTHER

Out of love for the truth and the desire to bring it to light, the following propositions will be discussed at Wittenberg, under the presidency of the Reverend Father Martin Luther, Master of Arts and of Sacred Theology, and Lecturer in Ordinary on the same at that place. Wherefore he requests that those who are unable to be present and debate orally with us, may do so by letter. In the Name our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
1. Our Lord and Master Jesus Christ, when He said Poenitentiam agite, willed that the whole life of believers should be repentance.
2. This word cannot be understood to mean sacramental penance, i.e., confession and satisfaction, which is administered by the priests.
3. Yet it means not inward repentance only; nay, there is no inward repentance which does not outwardly work divers mortifications of the flesh.
4. The penalty [of sin], therefore, continues so long as hatred of self continues; for this is the true inward repentance, and continues until our entrance into the kingdom of heaven.

WORSHIP – MADE FOR MAN

The modern day Christians have a funny definition of worship, limiting it to the period where they sing songs of praise unto the Most High God, the King of kings and Lord of lords. But I know that worship entails much more than that, for I do not believe, rather, I know that my Lord, the God I serve is not a simpleton to have given a code for worship (Jn. 4:23-24) – Worship in Spirit and in Truth.

7 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE ZAREPHATH WIDOW

“Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years!” (James 5:17) During this period of three and half years of drought God spoke to Elijah saying, “Go and live in the village of Zarephath, near the city of Sidon. I have instructed a widow there to feed you” (1 Kings 17:9) In the midst of difficulty God commanded His prophet to go into the dwelling of a widow, so that she could feed him. The widow represents believers of our day. God is dealing with us as He dealt with the Zarephath widow.

ANCESTRAL MISFORTUNE – IS IT MINE TOO?

The issue of ancestral misfortune is one of the most mishandled, both in ancient times and present day. As the ancient fathers accepted it to be, so the modern day believers in God accept it. They believed that the punishment or weaknesses of their forefathers will linger till many generations, and thus were in expectation of the particular punishment. Very interestingly the current day people of God believe the same.

For example, “If our forefathers were alcoholics then we are no different”, “It is generational”, we often say, “We are just having our share of the family cake”. Yes these things do happen. I have met people who have problems with marriage because all their forefathers had such problems. And others with barrenness issues, and thus struggle before giving birth to at most one. Some others I have encountered die at around age forty because of diabetes. All these are generational and thus do we believe that it is a form a chastisement upon the family that we cannot be left out.

We do believe that as far as you carry the family blood you are tied to all blessings and shortcoming of the family. And sure it does happen the way we see it. Truly our beliefs become our strongholds. What we believe and trust becomes the very ruler for our souls by the influence of powers which work either righteously or evilly.

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO THE YOUTH

One of the very famous scriptures on youthfulness is in First Timothy; “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” (4:12). This scripture has gained popularity because (1) the greater percentage of every population consist of youths, and (2) the youth are the most dissatisfied in society. Every youth with the strength of this scripture craves liberty.

Paul the Apostle told these things to Timothy, a youthful pastor. He admonished him to fulfill his ministry amidst the influence of the elders.

12 PROBLEMS WITH THE CHURCH IN AFRICA

Christ is the head of the Church and He thus has the authority to judge His own Church. How dare I say that the Church has a problem? I mean not to rule the Church with Christ, but just as the church in Pergamos held unto the doctrine of Balaam and the doctrine of the Nicholitans (Rev. 2:12-17), the church in Africa has held unto strange doctrines.
